Tourism And Travel Agents Meet For Matta Fair 2012

By Anne Liew

The Matta Fair 2012 is just around the corner. This meeting of the Malaysian Association of Travel and Tourism Agents (MATTA) has grown since its original appearance in 1991. The first meeting drew under ten thousand visitors and featured around eighty booths. Next year's meeting could attract ten times that amount, with over eight hundred booths expected. This is an incredible opportunity to meet other people and to buy products for international vacations.

The 2012 event will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's bustling primate city that houses the world's two tallest buildings and is home to millions and millions of people. Kuala Lumpur has become a major international tourist destination, attracting visitors from Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Australia and the rest of Asia. Between stops at the event's vending booths, the enterprising visitor can choose to explore the many shops, markets, night clubs and restaurants of the vibrant Malaysian city. They can also visit the region's many religious, historical and cultural sites.

Tourists should be aware that the city can be wet and hot. Kuala Lumpur receives around 112 inches of rain each year so deluges and street flooding are not uncommon. Nevertheless, the area has many outdoor shops and markets to explore between bouts of rainfall. Rain coats are recommended and it is advisable to book a room that has central air conditioning as evenings can be warm and muggy.

The trade show will have product displays and sell items related to tourism and traveling. Anticipated products include souvenirs, gifts and audio-visual equipment like cameras and camcorders. Other featured vendors will include credit card companies, theme park representatives, resorts, luxury hotels and tourism management companies.

The event also gives participants a chance to engage in networking with fellow travelers and like-minded agents. With Malaysia's tropical climate and hospitality, Kuala Lumpur is a great place to bring people together for an event of this scope.

In addition, attendees can purchase bargain deals on airline tickets, room reservations, vacation packages and more. The event not only allows travelers to share information, but it may also lead to a nice discount on their next vacation. These deals can enhance an already productive and enjoyable event even further.

Many resort hotels in the area will be accommodating to guests attending the fair and some may offer generous discounts for the event's attendees. Be advised to make reservations early for this exciting event, as space may fill up rapidly in the area's many hotels.

Matta Fair 2012 is expected to be one of the biggest travel fairs of its kind anywhere, so agents, tourists and merchandise sellers should make it a point to attend this special event. This marks the twenty-first year the fair has been in operation and each year tends to exceed the previous year in terms of turnout and opportunities. Next year's event is expected to be no exception as many people from around the world are planning to be there.
